Spring Sprung & Mom Busted It

Yesterday Jason mowed the lawn.  Bracken was so stinkin' excited. He has been asking to mow the lawn for weeks!  As Jason mowed Bracken followed at his safe distance with 'his' mower.

No I didn't take a picture.

Ella was sad. I wouldn't let her outside, and she LOVES outside, but there was no way to keep her away from the mower.   So I walked her around the block in the wagon.  When we got back Jason let Bracken push the 'big' mower on the sidewalk. Bracken felt so big, and Ella got to play with Bracken's mower... in the driveway.

Then we went inside and had tub time.

As I was combing out her tangles I said, "look at mom" she turned her face up at me and said, "CHEESE!" I had never seen her do this before and started laughing, so she continued. I grabbed the camera from the next room and we cheesed it for a while...

Afterward Jason and Bracken came in for tub time.  Jason put the kids to bed while I returned the redbox movie.  You know where this is going right?

As I backed out of the driveway I munchie crunched Bracken's prize possession.  He loved that thing as much as the vacuum.

I went in, told Jason what I had done and left. I was upset. Bad Mom.

When I got back I swept the pieces off the driveway then went to talk to Bracken. His first words, "How could you?"

After asking for forgiveness he told me, while trying his hardest not to cry, "I'm too mad, Mom."

Well this morning he came to give me a hug and said "It's okay now mom, I'm not mad anymore. There is a new one at the store."

Am I bad if I run out and buy it? Yes, he left his toy in the driveway, but I think Ella was the last one to play with it, with me!

Life Unscripted

Spring Break looked like this...
Ella was actually feeling well {she always seems to be sick} and I was excited to take them to Baby Animal Days... in this snow? I was NOT paying money for that.
So we played in the snow. Er.. they played.
Then the next week Ella was sick again. :(

My kids are always asking to make brownies...
I wonder why?

Have you heard about our Cinder'Ella'?
She can't keep a left shoe on... even if it's a boot.
I decided it's the smaller foot. :)

Easter came and went and I didn't take a picture.  But there are some on family camera's so maybe later.. I was really going to take their picture Sunday morning before church but ended up sending Bracken early with Jason and said I would do it after church.. and totally forgot.  Oh well, next week?  I know that even if I would have tried they wouldn't have cooperated.  Seems they hardly do... but here is proof they like each other...
Just about every morning I find them in Ella's bed together.
One morning I got smart and grabbed the camera.
Bracken had already gotten himself ready for school and everything.
Good kids.  {Some days!}

And every night before bed they each get a story,
Ella doesn't like to be left out of Bracken's story... she snuck right in.
Notice 'The Hulk' Bracken ALWAYS has a super hero in hand!
