4 months old

Oh Bracken, you are growing too too fast! I cannot believe you are already 4 months old! Your Dad and I took you to your 4 month Dr visit (yes, your dad was there, he likes to be involved in everything, he feels bad when he misses out, like when I take you to get pictures during the day while he is at work) The Dr thought you were a girl, it was kinda funny but you were naked with only a diaper on, and you are so cute! You weighed in at 15 lbs 10 oz and measured 25 inches tall. You are getting so big!
When the Dr checked you out he said you were just getting over an ear infection, but except for a bit of a stuffy nose in the morning and sometimes at night we never would have known! You are not fussy or ornery, we are so blessed you are such a wonderful baby! You did have a little bit of a fever and slept a lot the day after your appointment (something you don't do except for at night!) But the next day you were back to your normal happy talkative self.. you didn't let those shots keep you down, thats for sure.
You have started to enjoy your car seat a little more, you still get a real concerned look on your face when we strap you in, but once in the car you will talk and talk. You started rolling over when you were but 2 weeks old, did not want to be on your tummy, that was for sure... well you still don't like your tummy much but have forgotten that you can roll over! I'm sure you will figure it out soon though with your legs and arms moving like they do you won't be a stationary baby for long! We finally cut off your baby hair your new hair is coming in so thick and fuzzy and cute, your dad sat you in your highchair and snipped off the long piece of hair that was always flying away atop your head! Speaking of your highchair, you know what it means when you get strapped in there... as soon as you have a bib on you are sucking and smacking your lips, you do love to eat!
The first time I ever put you in the tub by yourself you loved it, but alas I didn't do it often enough and you forgot how much you loved it and would cry and cry, but together we have worked at it and now it isn't so bad, you actually enjoy it again! I cannot believe it but it is so fun that you are strong enough to sit up in your travel high chair and even sit up for a few minutes on your own on the floor, I won't leave you there I am still afraid you will suddenly tip over, but you haven't! Oh buddy, we love you so so much, and are so glad we get to keep you forever!

Traditions

For the last few years on my birthday we (me and any number of my family) have carved pumpkins . This year my sisters came over and we did just that... check out the results ! Cheyne's Reaper

Something else that is becoming somewhat of a tradition, are holiday sugar cookies. Jason loves to bake sugar cookies (and eat em too!) This is the first chance we've had to make em since we moved and added Bracken to our family, I really need to get a picture of Jason making them, towel over his shoulder and all, but alas at least I have a picture of the cookies! I frosted em, but thats it, he did the rest!

cousins: sharing a common grandparent

Over conference weekend Bracken saw a lot of his cousins... I realize this was awhile ago but I am finally posting the pictures! I was going to wait until I had a a copy of the picture that was taken of Bracken, Andres and Isaac (I left my camera at home!) BUT.. I haven't even emailed Kassie or Cami to have it emailed to me yet.. so when I get a copy I will post it too! But for now here are the pictures I got of Bracken and his cousins over that weekend...

We are very blessed to have such a wonderful family and to live so close (to most of em). It is so fun that we aren't just family but friends!

Speaking of... Bracken got a new cousin this week, Nate, Erica & Brynlee added a little boy to their family and named him Gracen, we can't believe we have to wait till Christmas time to meet him, we sure miss them! Congrats you guys!

Semi-Solid

Bracken & I got bored yesterday and ran away to Tremonton to see Grandpa Greg cause he was awake! (He is usually asleep during the day where he works a graveyard shift.) Bracken had so much fun I think he got wore out. He was being really sad, and I couldn't get him to sleep, he really wanted to be awake. It wasn't time for him to eat but he acted like he might be hungry so Grandpa took him and fed him some mashed up pears, boy that did the trick he liked that! So last night we went and bought some rice cereal and today I fed him rice cereal with some pear juice (he seemed to handle the pears okay) He really likes this new idea...

A Kandid Bracken

Yesterday I took Bracken into the mall to get some pictures taken because I had a referral certificate from my cousin Cami to receive a free Perfect Treasure... here is how it turned out!

Then I also bought an 8x10 of the main one with his cute open mouthed smile, it was quite the adventure for the 2 of us ( I hardly ever take him anywhere alone)...

So, I have wanted to upload our pictures to the My Heritage website to their look alike meter, but alas it is one more thing that doesn't work with a Mac.. yet. So I have some pictures of us and I'll have you tell us who you think Bracken looks like.
Don't forget to vote!

Catnap

A power-nap involves a break from activity, while a catnap is of a more leisurely nature. Thus, one may take a power-nap in the middle of a busy day, and a catnap on the couch during a lazy afternoon, but not vice-versa. - Wikipedia

Bracken is NOT a napper, he thinks he needs to be awake if we are, and has been that way for most of his life.. but I found that he likes his blanket (any fleece will do) and binky, he started falling asleep while playing on the floor if he had these two things, so I started putting him in bed... he cries for a minute but I can lay him down and he will put himself to sleep... such a good boy (even if the nap does only last 45 minutes)

Mickelson Photography

Brother Mick took family pics for us, I think they turned out wonderful, I can't wait to order mine!

Sunday Visitors

Sunday was the Misrasi Reunion in Bear River City; Jason, Bracken and I had already been to Tremonton the day before and it was Sunday so we opted out and stayed home, but I think we were missed! Meghan called from the reunion and asked what we were doing, and I told her we were just hanging out but they could come see us if they wanted .... they wanted! We missed Jake... but I think he opted out on the reunion as well and wasn't with the crowd as they caravaned to our house.

As you can see.. Bracken loves these visitors!
