This post in and of itself is a slide show. I am not a fan of uploading my pics to be shown in a slide show because I know people who can't view them because of a slow connection.. so hopefully this doesn't take quite as long to download!
The road trip in pictures...
We left early in the morning {6am} on June 28th and drove all day except to stop for potty breaks, food, diaper changes and gas. We stayed that night in Ogallala, Nebraska. We were afraid Bracken was going to cry for awhile after we layed him down and shut off the lights... but he went right to sleep! {A full day in the car is tiring!}
The next day {Bracken's birthday} we traveled again all day but stopped for a couple hours in Omaha at Winter Quarters.
That night we arrived in Des Moines, Iowa at Nate & Erica's packed up apartment. They were all but ready to leave, and even had dinner and cupcakes for us, we were very grateful! That evening we went in to downtown Des Moines to go to an Art Fair to find out that it had been over since 5pm.. sad. So Nate took us on a tour of Des Moines University. In the morning we left bright and early {6am} and headed for Sandusky, Ohio. After way too many hours in the truck we arrived!!
We took a day and drove to Kirtland and took the church history tour and
the Community of Christ's tour of the temple, very neat things too see..
We had oh so much fun helping them move into their new place and spending time together. We weren't way excited to get back in the truck for 3 days but a little anxious to get home...
We changed up the plans a little bit and came home in another direction so we could see Mt. Rushmore...
In all we were in 10 different states in our 10 day trip.
Utah, Wyoming, Nebraska, Iowa, Illinois, Indiana,
Ohio, Wisconsin, Minnesota and South Dakota!
