Birthdays And Easter Eggs

At Ashlee's wedding on March 1st Bracken found the dirt... he was very pleased with himself.. it had foam in it, so I think it was potting soil... So much for the clean white shirt! And then on Jason's Birthday he was given the lid to the ice cream...
That's right.. Jason had a birthday! I missed posting it, I spend way to much time on the computer when I do this so I took a break and got some other things done .. so I am playing catch up today. Sorry babe, you got missed, but I hope you had a happy birthday!! (I think he did) We left Bracken with his Gma & Gpa Thompson and went to SLC and ate at the Red Iguana, it was so fun and yummy too!

This last Thursday we went over to my Mom & Dad's and dyed easter eggs with Meg, Nick and Cheyne... we got all messy, but we had a blast!

On Friday afternoon my work held their annual easter egg hunt, which is the awesome~est egg hunt I've ever seen or even heard of! Meg came to video and Cheyne and Bracken had fun, even if the only thing Bracken was excited about was the duck ...
at least he was excited about something!

(In reality Meg was there to get her out of the house,
when we took her home that night she was surprised with a party)

We stayed the night in Tremonton and Saturday morning we had egg hunts with Cheyne, Nick and Meghan (again Jake was missing!) Then for Lunch we went to Jason's Mom & Dad's and had lunch and an egg hunt with the cousins.

Later that day we went to Marble Park and flew kites with the Lasley Clan
(the camera was dead by then.. so there are no pics of the babies all wearing hats
and Bracken flying the Elmo kite with his dad)

That night we went to Crystal Springs with the
1 million other people who had that idea! But we had fun!

And these are just a few recent pics of Bracken being Bracken.
Hopefully it won't be so long before I post again..
but don't get your hopes up!

{I had lots I wanted to post so I apologize the pictures are clumped,
but if you click on them they will get bigger and you can see them better!}

What Flower Are You?

I'm a LILY!

You are a nurturer and all around natural therapist.

People see you as their rock.
And they are able to depend on you.

You are a soothing influence.
You can make people feel better with a few words.

Your caring has more of an impact than even you realize.

So they say I'm a softy...

Oh to the things I say I would do if I had a sewing machine!

I am always inspired by Kassie...
and I am not a knotter like so..

{she is simply amazing}

But I have to admit I have been walking around with a potential list of things I could do if I had a sewing machine for a long time..
like years even...

I save random scraps of material, old shirts that I loved and can no longer fit into {sad face}, little pieces from blankets made for Bracken.. lots of cool stuff can be made from this stuff I tell people and they say "okay Kate" and give me that look...

Well I am here to SHOW you what I am talking about...
in case I never get around to actually doing it!

My list:
  • Softies: They don't have to be very big so they can be made up of very small pieces of fabric! ~hence my grocery bags full of scraps!~
and they can be any animal I think I can dream up and make believable looking!
( I got this picture from a softies website, NO I did not make it.
As I have mentioned I do not have a sewing machine, and NO patience to do it by hand!)

  • Beanbags: they don't have to be very big either! So they can also be made up of very small pieces of fabric!

They can be any shape or size, I personally think stars would be fun..
and so fun to play with with my kiddo!
(This picture I also got from a cool website, so NO I did not make it.)

  • Quiet Book: Okay so this one I could probably do without the sewing machine. You got me. I will make this one my goal to start... then maybe I will show that I would maybe possibly actaully use the sewing machine sometimes.
(This picture I also got from a cool website, so NO I did not make it.)
  • Rice Bags: Because I use mine so much I often need new ones and because
they would make great gifts!

(This picture I also got from a cool website, so NO I did not make it. Although I have some that I have made {on my MIL's sewing machine} but this is not a picture of it!)
  • Pillows: of two different kinds so far:

(These pictures I also got from a cool website,
so NO I did not make them.)

Okay so now that I have shown you the many things I could do, I will let you know if I ever actually do them. I have many other things I should be doing while Bracken is napping, such as washing bottles, folding all of the clean laundry or even making the bed.

But first I want to show you how
Bracken reacted to being fed Spinach today...

More Please. :)

OH! In other news.. he started rolling over yesterday!

{kassie: how did I do with my title? I am aspiring to be like you!}
